Two new attackers joined the club and immediately made an incredible impact - the Hungarian István Nyers arrived from Stade Français and finished Serie A top scorer with 26 goals; Amedeo Amadei arrived from Roma and almost matched his teammate with 22 goals.

This prolific Inter side were indeed challenging strongly for the title until the Superga air disaster killed the entire Torino squad with four games remaining and led to them being declared champions.
