This was the season which saw the first ever front of shirt sponsor, William Younger. Fulham finished in 9th place following a strong second half to the season where they won 8 and drew 7 games.

Paul Parker was voted Player of the Year and later went on to play for England. Robert Wilson, Ray Lewington and Dean Coney all the passed the 200-game milestone for the club during the season.
