One of Rio football's big four, Vasco da Gama have enjoyed more than their share of success over the years. The club's heyday came in the late 1990s when Romario and Edmundo terrorised defences all over the continent. Between 1997 and 2000 the club won two Brazilian titles and the Copa Libertadores and were a fearsome and well-respected force in the game.
