Stade Rennais 1970 – 71 Maglia Storica Calcio
The 1970-71 season was a memorable one in the history of Stade Rennes as the club enjoyed Coupe de France success, their second victory in the tournament arriving six years after the first. With League performances unremarkable, this was an era when Rennes were very much a cup team and had reached the semi-final stage several times in the previous few seasons.
En route to the 1971 success Jean Prouf's side defeated eventual Ligue 1 winners Marseille and in the Final overcame Lyon, the winner coming from an Andre Guy penalty just 6 months after he had joined Les Rennais from their final opponents. The win in the Final was even more notable as Rennes were missing their top scorer and main attacking threat Serge Lenoir.
