Club Brugge 1977 - 78 Wembley Retro Football Shirt
Club Brugge cemented its role as the dominant Belgian club of the decade with the 1977-78 season proving to be the greatest in the club's history to date. Ernst Happel's team duly won a third successive domestic title, but it was the European arena in which the club was a pioneer.
Progress deep into the European Cup came thanks to exceptional home form too strong for Kuopion PS, Panathinaikos,
Atlético Madrid and Juventus to handle. The Blauw-Zwart became the first and only Belgian club to reach the final of the most important European cup, unfortunately missing prolific striker Raoul Lambert, fell just short against holders Liverpool who won by a single goal at the legendary Wembley stadium.
