FC LORIENT
From Brittany’s Atlantic coast to the top tier of French football, FC Lorient’s story is one of resilience, identity and proud regional spirit. Les Merlus have built their reputation through bold football, distinctive colours and a history shaped by breakthrough moments, from first reaching Ligue 1 in 1998 to lifting the Coupe de France in 2002.
The club’s finest hour came during that unforgettable 2001–02 campaign, when Lorient mixed league heartbreak with cup glory. A dramatic run past Rennes, Louhans-Cuiseaux, PSG and Nîmes led them to the final, where Jean-Claude Darcheville’s goal sealed the first major trophy in the club’s history.
The official FC Lorient retro collection celebrates those landmark seasons and the unmistakable orange-and-black identity of a club that continues to carry the pride of Brittany wherever it plays.
