A season full of milestones on many accounts for Fulham: Even though finishing in only the 18th place of Division one the club scored an impressive 71 goals – the fifth-highest in the division –, played their 2000th league game & 1000th home game against Aston Villa in November, and one-club-player George Cohen reached 400 appearances for the club. Another magnificent accomplishment from one Fulham’s greatest ever players, following his World Cup-winning performances for England that summer. The season saw Jimmy Conway’s start of his 10-year period at the club but would also prove to be the farewell season of Graham Legatt and Bobby Robson who would bow out after extensive periods at Fulham.
