The 1980s were a strong time in the history of FC St. Gallen. Under its influential coach Helmuth Johannsen, the 1983-84 season brought European football for only the second time in the club’s history. The goals of attacking trio Martin Gisinger, Paul Friberg and Manfred Braschler made St.Gallen an exciting team to watch and one that was virtually unbeatable at their home stadium, the Espenmoos. The FCSG’s jerseys at the time, sponsored by dog food brand Fido, a legendary in their own right– Time to pay them homage!
