BORUSSIA MÖNCHENGLADBACH 1996–97 RETRO FOOTBALL SHIRT
Few clubs have left such a distinctive mark on German football as Borussia Mönchengladbach. From their golden era in the 1970s, when Die Fohlen dominated the Bundesliga with their attacking football, to the generations that followed, the club built a reputation for exciting talent, determination and a strong footballing identity.
The 1996–97 season brought a different kind of challenge to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Following several successful campaigns, the Foals found themselves fighting to maintain their Bundesliga status. With Swedish striker Martin Dahlin departing for Roma and a difficult start to the season, a change in management saw Hannes Bongartz replace Bernd Krauss. The return of Dahlin, alongside players such as Andrzej Juskowiak, Robert Enke and Ioan Lupescu, helped the club navigate a demanding campaign and secure its place in the top flight.
Celebrating this chapter in the club's history, COPA introduces the Borussia Mönchengladbach 1996–97 Retro Football Shirt. Featuring a classic black design, contrasting white and green trim, the famous diamond-shaped club crest and the distinctive Diebels sponsor across the chest, the shirt brings back one of Borussia's memorable looks from the 1990s. A tribute to the tradition, character and enduring identity of Die Fohlen.
