The highlight of the season was undoubtedly the brilliant attacking play in which new-arrival Eddie Firmani scored 20 goals, a figure dwarfed by the remarkable 33 goals in 33 games struck by the Argentinian wizard Antonio Angelillo. This is still the Italian record for the 18-team Serie A.
