CA PEÑAROL

Small home country, huge international club - Peñarol long ago transcended their Montevideo roots to become a pillar of South American football. This Uruguayan giant is one of a very select group of clubs to have been national champions more than 50 times, but their wider reputation was forged in the 1960s with three international titles won in the early years of the Copa Libertadores. Two further titles were added in the 1980s.
